Stack Monitoring, Indoor & Ambient Air Quality

SLP Environmental Consultants provide a range of specialist air quality measurement and modelling services from stack monitoring through to atmospheric dispersion modelling & environmental health impact assessment. We also provide indoor air quality (IAQ) compliance monitoring to measure workplace exposure to a comprehensive range of volatile & semi-volatile compounds, total and respirable dust etc.

We can design and commission air quality monitoring programmes to collect data on point source emissions, such as those associated with manufacturing operations, mineral/aggregate extraction and waste disposal activities, and diffuse sources such as transportation emissions. This can also include monitoring for fugitive dust emissions associated with these activities, notably particulates less than 10 microns (PM10s) in size.

The data collected during these exercises can be input into computer models to determine fate and transport characteristics thus enabling health impact assessments to be undertaken for the identified exposed receptors. Modelling undertaken at the design stage of a construction scheme can be used to identify whether mitigation measures will be required during the construction and operational phases of the project to protect human and environmental receptors. Where air quality is predicted to fail the pertinent quality standards or guidelines SLP can also offer recommendations on the most suitable mitigation measures.
