The chemical testing results are subject to detailed statistical assessment using the latest decision support tools to generate representative contaminant concentrations for comparison with the appropriate Tier 1 risk screening values. The interpretative report includes a full environmental liability assessment and a qualitative risk rating for each identified potential pollutant linkage along with a commercially focused executive summary for boardroom and stakeholder consumption.
The ultimate objective of any Phase 2 Environmental Site Assessment is to identify whether the study site potentially represents an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment. If the assessment indicates this may be the case then SLP provide clear and concise routemap style guidance that sets out how these potential liabilities can be further quantified and effectively managed. Where potential risks are identified at the Phase 2 site assessment stage, projects are generally taken forward for specialized environmental risk assessment (QRA) computer modelling to determine the significance of the results in a site-specific context. SLP ensure that sufficient data is collected during the site investigation phase to facilitate QRA modelling if required.
