Myanmar: SLP Environmental approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC) to prepare Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, Initial Environmental Examination Reports and Environmental & Social Management and Monitoring Plans (ESMMP) in Myanmar.
In accordance with Article 21(a) of the ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE, Ministry of Environmental Conservation and Forestry, Notification No. 616/2015, only consulting firms approved and registered at MONREC may prepare EIA reports for projects in Myanmar.
SLP Environmental is pleased to announce that we have been approved as an EIA Consulting Organisation under the MONREC Consultant Registration Scheme and are therefore legally permitted to prepare and submit Initial Environmental Examination (IEE), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Environmental & Social Management and Monitoring Plan (ESMMP) reports on behalf of project developers in Myanmar.

SLP has a proven track record in Myanmar and has successfully completed in excess of twenty assignments to National and International Financial Institution (IFI) standards across multiple sectors on behalf of both international inward investors and local project developers. SLP offers a bespoke consulting service and can tailor our services and deliverables to the particular needs of the client, whether the requirement is driven by transaction risk management considerations, regulatory compliance requirements or the environmental and social performance conditions of potential project lenders. SLP has also prepared bespoke reports and documentation to support our clients Investment Permit applications from the Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) for their projects.
In addition to our private sector work, SLP Environmental has been engaged in ESIA capacity building activities with Myanmar Government Agencies for several years and recently co-authored the Sector Specific Environmental Impact Assessment Guideline for Oil and Gas Activities in Myanmar on behalf of MONREC.
